Want to make an adult protection referral?

If you are being abused or you suspect that someone you know may be the victim of abuse you can call the Social Care Call Centre number to make an adult protection referral.

Some instances of abuse will constitute a criminal offence. Examples of actions which may constitute criminal offences are:

assault, whether physical or psychological,

theft, fraud or other forms of financial exploitation,

sexual assault and rape,

certain forms of discrimination, whether on racial or gender grounds.

the willful ill treatment or neglect of a person who lacks capacity or is reasonably believed to lack capacity ( section 44, Mental Health Capacity Act)
